Pupil Premium Funding

“The Pupil Premium Grant should be used to ensure disadvantaged pupils receive consistently excellent teaching.”

Marc Rowland, Deputy Director of the Education Trust

The Pupil Premium Grant is funding provided to schools which is additional to main school funding. It is allocated according to the number of pupils on-roll who have been eligible for free school meals (FSM) within the last 6 years. Pupil Premium payments are also allocated to children of service families and pupils who are ‘Looked After’ (in care) or adopted.

It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium is spent, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within their responsibility.

Schools are to be held accountable for how they have used the additional funding to support pupils from low-income families.  Please read our pupil premium strategy for information regarding how we use pupil premium funding.  In addition to this, we produce an Annual Report detailing the impact of the funding.

The senior leadership team and Learning Mentor effectively work together to ensure that this grant is utilised to best meet the needs of our Pupil Premium children. We have focussed on using the Pupil Premium Funding to reduce attainment differences, ensuring all our children leave school with the best learning outcomes and opportunities.
